Obituary Herman Bendfeldt
FATHER: Herman J. Bendfeldt
EAST LYME - Herman J. Bendfeldt, 70 of Marte, Guam, formerly of Niantic, Ct,
died April 4 at the Micronesian Hotel in Marte. Born in New York City Oct. 20,
1906, he was the son of Herman and Emma (Risenberg) Bendfeldt. He was a graduate
of Meriden High School.
Mr. Bendfeldt worked for the Public Works Department at the Submarine Base in
Groton. In January of 1947 he started work at the U.S. Naval Depot in Guam,
retiring in 1971 after 29 years of government service.
Survivors include 6 sons: Herman J. of Rome, N.Y., E. Peter of Waterford,
Seth B of Oakdale, Steven W. Bendfeldt of Marquette, Mich, six daughters;
Mrs. Betty Ann Collins of Vienna Va., Mrs. Florence L. Frazier of Hull, Mass.,
Mrs Judith Machurat, Hamden Ct ., Mrs. Diane L Anderson and Mrs. Marlene L.
Douglas, both of Niantic, and Mrs. Thresa M Campbell of Waterford; two sisters;
Mrs. Florence Broderick of Wethersfield and Mrs. Lillian Brown of Niantic; ;
25 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one son predeceased, Kendrick

Former Leather Cutter Dies in 90th year
Herman Bendfeldt, 89, of Old Black Point Rd., Niantic, Ct died at 11:58 p.m.
yesterday at Briarcliff Convalescent Hospital. He had been in failing health for
two years and was admitted to the hospital last August, before that living with
his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Brown of the Niantic address.
A leather cutter, he retired from the Delaney Leather Co. in Meriden about 15
years ago and was a member of the Foresters of American in Meriden. His wife,
the former Emma Riesenberg, born in 1876, died in October 1957. Herman was
Born Jan. 12, 1872 in New York City, he was the son of George and Emma
Bendfeldt.
Besides the daughter with whom he lived, he is survived by another daughter,
Mrs. Kenneth F. Broderick of Hartford; a son, Herman J. Bendfeldt Jr., of Guam;
16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
ANDREW L. FRAZIER Andrew L. Frazier, 36, Kansas City, MO, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2001, at St. Luke's Barry Road Hospital. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, at Heritage Funeral Home, Parkville, MO. Burial will be in Hull Village Cemetery, Hull, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Platte County Board of Services. Mr. Frazier was born October 1, 1964, in Hull, MA. He attended Platte Woods United Methodist Church. He was cared for by the Platte County Board of Services. He was employed by Pizza Hut on 72nd St. He is survived by his brother, Jeffrey Frazier, St. Croix, Virgin Islands, and nieces, Kellee Mesick and Malorie Mesick, and brother-in-law, Lee Mesick, all of Parkville, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Florence Frazier, and sister, Lori Frazier. (Arrangements: Heritage Funeral Home, Parkville, MO)

New Martinsville, W.Va. — Kayla Dian McElaney, 13, of New Martinsville, died Tuesday, April 20, 2004 in Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh as the result of an ATV accident.
Kayla was born on Oct. 2, 1990 in Davenport, Iowa, to Dr. Charles. McElaney III and Pamela Anderson McElaney of Martinsville.
